It is very important to point out that the horse must be standing square, on level ground, with the head, neck and back forming a straight line while performing these 10 points to Saddle Fit. These 10 points are used ONLY to determine that a saddle fits statically.

After a saddle is determined to fit statically, you should contact an MSA Saddle Fitter, or a Saddle Fitter recommended by the MSA, to safely ensure proper fit and to conduct a "Dynamic" evaluation. A dynamic evaluation is an evaluation that is conducted while the horse and rider is in motion.

Based on the horse's conformation, a saddle that fits statically very well may not fit dynamically. An MSA Certified Saddle Fitter takes into consideration the horses conformation, bio-mechanical movement, gaits, etc., to ensure an optimal fit of the saddle.
